Writing Personal Recounts

A PERSONAL RECOUNT is a spoken or written account of a single experience that we have been personally involved in.

Personal Recounts have the following characteristics:
- One main experience
- Must be a personal experience
- Details of the time, date and place
- Record all actions and feelings

Grammar used:
- First-person narrative
- Past tense
- Action verbs (i.e. lifted, shouted, hesitated, etc.)
- Use adjectives (i.e. huge, roaring, etc.)
